14 May 2019 Doubleday News
The latest addition to the Doubleday fleet!
It’s been nearly 14 years since the current Doubleday lorry hit the UK roads and after 702,000 miles the wheels will finally stopped turning to make way for the latest addition to the Doubleday vehicle fleet !
Our new Volvo FH Globetrotter 25th Anniversary Special Edition has spent the last few weeks with Scott Airbrushworks who have created the story of Doubleday Group ‘Part of the Landscape for Generations’ on its bodywork.
Doubleday Transport Driver, Andy Wright has been with Doubleday Group for 15 years and is a key member of the team ensuring that machines are delivered safely and on time to customers. Andy Commented “I am most looking forward to the comfort and the latest driving aids that feature in this lorry, times have changed since 2005 with technology evolving so rapidly such as Dynamic Steering, Adaptive Cruise Control and an Active Safety System. When I first went to collect the original Scania lorry from Scott Airbrushworks, ‘The Boss’ came as passenger which will always be the best memory of all my journey’s. Many more miles will be driven in an absolutely stunning new truck, the paintwork is a fitting tribute to ‘The Boss’ and Doubleday Group, I will certainly enjoy driving it as much as I have done the Scania.
Keep a watchful eye out and you may well see us out and about very soon, Andy will deliver his first load on Wednesday 15th May.
